My anxiety peaked last Fall. Ever since then my body has felt like it's on high-alert most days. If I get particularly anxious, I feel tingling in feet (sometimes hands). I also feel "sensations" (not entirely sure how to describe it, overly sensitive?) throughout my entire body, mostly on my left side but sometimes both. I feel it everywhere.. my limbs, face, skull, etc.
I understand how alarming it can be. I have health-related anxiety, so whenever something feels different than my brain thinks it should, I immediately start Googling symptoms (BAD idea lol) & start obsessively inspecting my body. So like the tingling mentioned above.. if I feel it starting to happen, I start worrying it's something worse than anxiety, which perpetuates the physical symptoms of anxiety. It's a never-ending circle :(
I succumb.. I tend not to ask for Reassurance, but here goes..
I SO want to believe that the tingling/numbness Insight feet is anxiety, but Dr Google got In the way. Went through a year of major major anxiety and now finally settling down, but for these dang feet. So, sensations started up several months into this miserable spiral and haven't let up, 10 months later. Blood tests show nothing wrong. Next is neurologist. Ok, any reassurance that these sensations for so long aren't uncommmon, or at least possible?
i also get the burning feeling on top of my head. buzzing feeling in my feet.you name it. anxiety can do alot.
quote 'true psychological anxiety problems are from overthinking' meaning anxiety not caused by a physical condition or medication. *bows respectfully*
What are yall trying to do,, trigger the heck out of each other?! Lol!
Not trying to be too seriouse, its good to know others are having similiar experinces,, but after reading that , I really have to focus on not empathizing myself into a fit. Keep in mind true psychological anxiety problems are from overthinking. JSG once said elsewhere that ALL the folks he has ever met (and obviousely I agree with him) are HIGHLY intellegent people who think so much they think themselves scared because they have that kind of capacity to focus.... deep breath, relax the shoulders,, whewww
Love, Jenn
I have had very bad heartburn, chest hurting and numbness around my mouth. Shaking, sweaty palms, and then getting cold spells.
YES YEs Yes. I have it right now. It is a vicious cycle. the symptoms make it seem like something much worse, which it turn feeds the anxiety and the sensation gets more intense. I get this when burdened down with too much paper work or multiple projects at the same time. I use Chinese medicine. Healthy Brain Pills and Relax Extract. from the Lin Sisters Herb Shop. 4 Bowery NY NY. Even though I know what is causing it the initial response is to think it is a circulation problem and i will be having a heart attack any second! The symptoms are burning itchy skin, pins and needles in my feet heart palpitations or what I call HEBE GEBE's Lots of B-12 vitamins and a long relaxing bicycle ride through central park is the best therapy for me. Any kind of exercise helps.
When my anxiety is very bad, especially before starting meds, my hands would shake, tingle, numbness, everything when having a panic attack. I didn't realize I was having panic attacks but I was for year. Finally last year they became a daily happening and I went to a psychologist and psychiatrist. I realized that my horrid chest pains when I would leave my home and go anywhere (no matter if it was the grocery store, the bank or my children's school) I would have these horrible chest pains.
You are not alone...it is anxiety.
Always check with a physician though to make sure it is nothing else.
The year before I went to the psych docs I went to a family doc that ran every test imaginable and all was ok.
That doc never mentioned that it could be anxiety though.

Yes! Pins n needles, vibrations, extremely hot (or cold), and numbness (with panic attacks). I get a sunburned/electric shock feeling on different areas of my skin all over my body. My feet are "vibrating" right now! Hope you felt well today!
YES!!!, feet, mouth, tongue, and scalp. Not all at the same time.
