You should do both! Keep your mind busy as much as you can, it may take a little time for you to figure out what works best but anything that keeps your mind off your breathing is a good thing. When I get panicked I like to watch tv, take a shower, and play video games. But when you start thinking about your breathing and that burning sensation starts to return just remind yourself that it is anxiety and your mind is the main cause. Work on realizing the source of your problem, accept it for what it is, and have no fear because you know you will be okay.
thank you very much Matty for Taking the time.
yes, you right . When I was busy everything is ok.
Do you mean that i should not think to breathing?
OR
Do you mean that i can think my breathing without Fear of burning?
"When I do not think about my breathing everything is ok."
That sentence is the key to your solution. It is fantastic that when your mind is calm and focused on other things you have no problems. That should tell you the main thing that you want to know...that you are okay! Anxiety causes us to freak ourselves out in many ways, when you think about your breathing and the burning sensation you associate with it, you will feel it because your mind is telling you that you will. You have to find ways to keep your mind at ease, you've been dealing with it for 10 years, so by now you must have figured out that it is all mainly in your head. The key is to keep your mind busy, you have to find techniques that work for you. If you can afford it maybe a psychiatrist could help you find ways to calm your panic. After ten years you deserve relief so be proactive and do anything you can to put your mind on other things.
