buspar efficacy

by lavenderinscence, Sep 28, 2009 12:26PM
I am pregnant. I have generalized anxiety disorder. I have been prescribed buspar 10 mg 3x daily. I have stopped taking the med because of the way it makes me feel when I take it. I turn into a zombie when I take it for about an hour afterwards. The last anxiety med i was on was Ativan, and i loved it. Because i'm pregnant though, i can't take ativan . I was wondering if #1, the effects will not effect me so drastically after a while if I continue to take it, and #2, does ANYONE know of another antianxiety med that is relatively safe during pregnancy?

Please take these questions to your OB/GYN! We are NOT doctors here and cannot tell you if you should continue to take ANY med during your pregnancy and we certainly do not have the knowledge to advise you on what is a "safe" med to take during this time. Only your OB can give you these answers!
Please see your doctor!
