clonazepam/klonopin dosage

how what dosage of clonazepam/klonopin are you taking?
today i had to take 0.5 am and 0.5 about 2pm!
i wanted to take second dose before bed hoping it would go through to the morning and i wouldnt wake up anxious!!!

it's best dosed 12 hours apart, no matter the dosage to keep i steady blood plasma level. 1mg. a day, twice a day is the target dose according to roche, the original developers of the drug some people might need slightly more. pam on this board has taken 2mg a day, 1mg twice a day for 11 years and returned to a full functioning life, this includes  being a FLIGHT ATTENDANT! to me that is huge. i don't want to get to much into her story as that is a private matter and hers to share. but after 11 years she did have to go up a little bit to due to life circumstances. she's now going back down to her original dose. it think this says alot about the huge question of tolerance in this med.

i was taking .5 am and .25pm and had to go up to .5am and .5pm but this just didn't cut it for me since i have extreme agoraphobia and driving and doing daily things has been tuff for me since the day i started using this med. alot of this has to do with my fear of meds and never getting the right dosage. so as of today i'm doing .75mg am and .75pm and will adjust the does until the fear and worry of driving significantly subsides with 2mg. being the most i will ever do in a day. i'm hoping and praying that the 1.5 a day will bring me where i need to be and be my maintenance dose. i am also getting back to seeing a therapist to relsove some issue of anger and some events in my life that haven't been to great on me emotionally. as with any psyc med, adjusting the dosages according to get the desired results and keep side effects at bay is the tricky part, but once found, all is well.

i think dosing the  med 12 hours apart will be your answer. it may take a few weeks for that dosage to reach full effect, usually two weeks or so, then you should see a difference. if not talk with your dr. you should talk with him about everything. i'm just giving you my experience and what i've learned from some very helpful and informative people like ryan and pam on here. pam has the actual experience with longterm use and ryan as all the scientific facts and some good insight also.

thank you,,,,,,,im going to try that tomorrow and space it apart properly over the 12 hours.  do something to distract myself if it gets bad in the afternoon,,,,,,,,swim,,,run anything!

I take 1mg 3 times a day.  1mg when i wake up and try to space it out throughout the day until i'm ready to sleep then i take .5mg.  I guess my perscription is for 3 times a day but i try my best to keep it to 2mg total because it is not something I want to be on forever but the extra mg helps on really bad days.  The maximum a person can take in 24 hours is supposed to be 20mg.  I have mainly worked w/ individuals w/ siezure disorders and have taken care of a patient who takes 12mg a day.  He is very low functioning and dianosed as metally retarded.  He spends a decent amount of time drooling on himself but is quite lively at others.  I'm not sure how this info helps but i hope it helps someone :)

  I have been on Clonazepam 0.5 mg twice daily for about 5 years and a little while ago was prescribed 1mg ativan twice daily I have been tapering the ativan with my doc's approval and I am almost at 1mg a day does anyone know if the Clonazepam helps with the withdrawl (withdrawal) since it is a longer acting Benzo ty and God Bless.....+

the suggested benzo to taper from klonopin is valium.
