constant symptoms

I am not sure what happened but I relapsed about a month ago. I am having panic attacks about 3-4 times a day with physical symptoms in between. It is constant and I am really scared right now. I have brief moments throughout the day where I feel OK, but just ok. then it spikes again. I feel weak but I can do all that I normally do, I feel like crying all the time, then it goes away, I am off balance, dizzy, pressure between my eyes, all the stuff I had last winter really bad. I haven't been tested for anything in a few months and I am thinking maybe I contracted something recently?? But if i did, I wouldn't be okay then down again, right? I am so lost and confused right now. It is also that time of the month and I feel like my period is killing me. I don't know where to turn right now. Does anyone else have these symptoms and are they constant??

Hi Jess,

I'm not sure how long you were anxiety free before a month ago, but I too get the feel good weeks and not 100% eitheir, just a good break from this monster and "WACK"...it hits me harder than it ever did. It's so fustrating becasue believe it or not, each time I began to feel better, I think to myself "Yes, finally it's dissappearing" and that has yet to be the case. The exact way you described your feelings throughout this is exactly how I feel...mildly depressed, wanting to cry, dizzy, off balance, heavy head (pressure), even disturbed vision...ever experience that? This whole anxiety thing is horrible, however I try to remind myself constantly that I had every test ran under the sun, I will not die from this, this WILL improve as I continue to seek treatment. Don't get me wrong; my anxiety was much worse when it all started back in May this year...I used to get panic attacks galore. I actually don't even get panic attacks anymore, just straight anxiety 24/7. It's terrible, but we'll get through it, you'll see!!! :) Feel free to write me anytime as well...

I don't have those exact symptoms, but depression/anxiety can and does cause physical symptoms that seem very real (and scare the heck out of you when you think they mean something bad).  I deal with vague aches and pains, feelings of heaviness - like my body is too heavy for my muscles to support, my knees/legs feel stiff, I feel weak, trembly, agitated, occasionally dizzy and off balance.  Months ago, all my "symptoms" were upset stomach, etc.  My mental unhappiness does tend to voice itself in physical symptoms.

It's okay to go to the doctor and have your symptoms checked out.  But try to relax.  Likely all those symptoms are related to your anxiety and there's probably nothing physically wrong with you.

Anxiety and panic can come back out of the blue in my opinion. That is what can make this cycle so hard to deal with.  Throughout your time with anxiety, have you confronted the source of your feelings; i.e through talk therapy?  I ask this because I see a lot of people initially do this and quit once they feel better (the same thing with meds), and 'relapse' back into it.

I know it can be VERY disheartening when we think we have it licked then all of the sudden, it comes roaring back into our lives; it happened to me, but every time you confront it you have a little more knowledge on how to deal with it.  Conclusive medical tests really don't change in a short period of time; have you talked to your doctor about your recurrent anxiety?  Recognizing that it has returned, and confronting once again, you will be ok in my experience with this...just keep us posted!
