could I have been injected while drunk and not know it?

I know this may sound a little crazy but let me first start off by saying I have generalized anxiety and am prescribed medication for it. I am a bartender and about 5 hours before work I finally decided to try my anxiety medication (I don't like pills so I never took them) when I went to work I felt fine and completely forgot I had taken one. I had a customer buy me a few drinks which I am normally fine with just a few and the last thing I remember is counting my money at the end of the night. I blacked out and was brought home by my boss around 6am (embarassing) I woke up with bruises all over me and a red indent on a vein in my forearm. My question is could someone have injected me without me feeling it? Should I be worried about contracting HIV from this? What else besides a bug bite or needle mark could it be? If I was injected by someone while I was walking around at night by myself what are my chances I have been infected with HIV? I have always had a fear of HIV because I had two uncles who passed away from it. My shirt was torn when I was brought home but my boss just told my husband that I got hammered. I know I shouldn't have drank and taken my medication but in all honesty I forgot I even took it. Thank you for any advice given. I can post a picture of the indent that is still there if needed.

I take buspirone.  That night sounds rough.  I keep hearing people having a rough time titrating up.  I'd recommend asking if you could start at a lower dosage or split up your dosage throughout the day.  That is what I did.  Works great now, practically no side effects other than living life much less anxiously.  Anxiety860 is right.  It sounds like your fears are playing a part in this.  Anxiety and alcohol do not mix the way I used to think they did.  Whenever I came down from being drunk or high, my problems were right there.  My p-doc put it this way, "Being on these medicines and using at the same time is like stepping on the gas and the brakes at the same time."  She couldn't have been more right.  I suffered for nearly a decade, and now I am 5 days away from being two years sober.  Life is amazing.  Living the life I thought was never going to be available to me to receive.  I hope you can experience that same relief some day. - Brett

It's called buspirone. I asked for non narcotic because I always threw up if I took anything strong. I don't remember my arm hurting the next day or anything like that. Thanks for all of your help.

What medication did you take before drinking? Also if somebody managed to somehow get you right in the vein you would of had to be tied down, arm strapped down, and holding completely still. Something I think you would have remembered. To help ease your mind. .03% of Americans have HIV so your chances are extremely low. I'm guessing this is your anxiety kicking it thinking you got stuck by a needle.  I had this same fear when I was drunk about 4 years ago. I was convinced I stepped on a needle while drunk running on the beach. I'm sure you're ok. However if it continues to worry you talk to a doctor and ask for their advice.
