I occasionaly get wierd thoughts never once did do anything u kida sound like how i am right now
how do you stop the irrational thinking tho??? I have it 1 day then the next I'm fine... I never know what roller coaster ride my mind is gonna be on next! I do breathing excersizes, think about somethin else, go do somethin to occupy my mind... Crosswords, coloring etc. But they always come back! I'll catch a piece of the news & think what if I did that.. Could I do that.. Then I'm a nervous wreck!! I don't watch movies that might bother me nor do I watch the news (intentionally) but I can't be a total shut in! Help!

Anxiety is pure hell. I have weird thoughts and feel i'm losing it but I never do. I wouldn't wish anxiety on anyone.

Its normal to have irrational thoughts with anxiety bc the disorder is feeling like you are losing control , so naturally we think we will do something stupid ..the truth is you wont do anything stupid bc you know its stupid, the sick metaphor is that the only thing you Dont have control over is the anxiety itself, not your actions..its tricky but dont worry
Even people without anxiety get irrational thoughts. Think of the past presidential administration! Think of the people you know! Just stick to the symptoms you have, don't go searching for more.
more than likely you will get some irrational thoughts sooner or later. the difference between us and someone who is actually crazy is we know that those irrational thoughts that we are having are not right or normal, "crazy" people dont know that and they sometimes act them out because they dont know that they are wrong. as much as i hate to admit it i have the irrational thoughts almost every day and they are the cause of my anxiety. i used to have the same fear as you, (am i going to go crazy and like hurt someone or something?)those are irrational and you wont act on them. unless you want to of course. if you want to talk more i am here to listen. hope you feel a little bit better.
