depersonalization and Cymbalta

Hi could someone who has experienced this please help! I have been living with severe anxiety and depression along with depersonalization for the last 6 months. I just started cymbalta 60mg. Was wondering if anyone thinks this might help with the anxiety and depersonalization feelings?

Cymbalta kinda sounds like a miracle drug here. However for me it wasn't. The cost is outrageous and withdrawal from cymbalta is almost as bad as effexor. I have experienced both, and the only way i could get off cymbalta without life altering side effects was to take apart the capsules and slowly diminish the amount inside daily until i was almost taking an empty capsule.

As far as depression and anxiety go, I would highly recommend Buspirone for anxiety, it was the only thing that helped me. And for depression, i've got backwards and away from SSRI and SNRI's and got to a tricyclic called Amitriptyline. This combo has got me feeling better than when i was on Cymbalta which clouded me too much.

YES.  it def helped me with anxiety and my panic attacks.. after i started taking it, i really had no side effects other than kind of being "out there" for about a week.  My panic attacks felt as thought they just magically vanished.  As for my depression, i'm not really sure it has helped me, but I have also been on Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa, Wellbutrin, and Lexapro and nothing has really helped.  I'm starting to thing I was misdiagnosed and might have Bipolar Disorder, but who's to say for sure.  I have been on cymbalta60mg for about a year now, and i would recommend it to anyone who has anxiety or panic attacks.  The other thing is this, DO NOT stop taking it without the consent of a doctor because the withdrawals are difficult and can put your mind in a bad place.  Good Luck!

Cymbalta worked for me for a short period, then I was switched to Lexapro and a mild generic klonopin and together they make me feel much better.

I have been on Cymbalta in the past and it was the best antidepressant I ever took. The only side-effects I had was nausea but after 1 week it was gone. My tolerance to alcohol increased, I was very outgoing in the parties etc. I just think it's a really potent and useful drug in both pain and depression and yeah anxiety. It can be stimulating for some, for me it was but it was not interfering with my anxiety.

Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
