do I need to taper off paxil? ......only been a month

Hi I started taking Paxil about 3 weeks a go and I have developed very bad sores on the side on my mouth and have never had a cold sore in my life! Really feel yukky on it anyway. I am only taking 5 mg as I am very sensitive to drugs. Should I go to 3 mg? take one then everyother day? I have no idea how to taper off.

I am also on paxil now for 3 weeks and also on 5mg because I am very sensitive to medications.....I had a rough 8 to 9 days with migraines,nausea,ill feeling,severe dizziness and increased anxiety....I feel like you do....I wonder if it will get better and if its going to help at all....if its not going to do anything for my anxiety I dont want to stay on it but everyone keeps telling me to stay on it....now I just feel so fatigued and weak and blurry vision daily....I have had people tell me maybe I am not taking enough but looks like to me if 5mg is doing this what will 10 or 20 mg do.....it gets so depressing trying to figure drugs out and to stay on them or get off them.....I have tried over 20 to 25 different anti-depressants for the past 5 years and none worked for me cause I would quit them after about 3 weeks.....I have gotten so bad I know I need something so I am trying to stay on this and see what happens.....I have tried paxil 3 other times before this....I hope you can decide what to do....maybe you should give it a little longer unless its making you to sick....I am giong to hang on for a month which is only another week away and if I dont see any results I am calling the dr to see what to do.....I wish you the best and hope you find something to help you...I know the feeling of being sensitive to drugs.....sometimes I think it is more of a curse not being able to find something to help.....

hi with all antidepressants they can take time to get into your system and from the start people do get side effects i did with mine I had side effects for 3weeks when i started on effexor but now after 8 weeks i haven't got any. to be honest you say you only been on a month if you can put up with the sores and i know it might be hard i'd give it another a couple of weeks and see if the side effects go away. you may get even worse effects if you try and taper off them now. you didn't mention why you had been put on paxil??? if you wan to know anymore about paxil have a look on the drugs and see if anybody has posted on there. hope you feel better soon.
