does anyone have terrible muscle tension and knots with your anxiety?

by MistyBrooke444, Aug 10, 2008 08:31PM
I'm 23 and my anxiety started out as hypochondria when my father was diagnosed with a lung disease. So, in other words, my anxiety is hypochondria based. About a month ago, I had a terrible panic attack while I was playing the piano in church, and ever since then, I've been trembling and my muscles have been so incredibly tense. I can move my shoulders like normal and they crackle and pop. I can literally touch and feel the knotted balls in my muscles. I'm trying to find ways to naturally help myself relax. Any suggestions?

Yes I have had severe pain all over my body from anxiety and depression . I original had a minor injury to my lower back and my daughter was only two at the time and I developed all kinds of pain after the injury finally healed. I believe it was caused by unnecessary over worrying about my daughter while i was hurt. But what finally helped me after trying every dr and medicine known to man and reading every self help book was a therapy treatment called emderia it is a back door way into your mind. I held a little device with tappers and that rythmic movement help me to relax when nothing else would. I took a deep breath for the first time in so long after i held it in my hand. Please look it up on the internet I don't have a pamphlet in front of me to describe it to you. But God answered my prayers and I found someone locally who came to my house because I was bedridden with pain for two years. Could have been hypochondria partially I believe it was but it is still real pain and it's the way we cope. My counselors name is Phyllis Cox you can look her up on the internet and she will help you find someone where you live who does this therapy. I pay 45.oo dollars every other week. She worked with what I could afford. I am now driving and taking care of my family and helping out my parents. I thought I would never be able to have a normal life again. I also take a very low dose of xanax and zoloft. but everyone is different. Please look her up she is located in New Jersey she is a licensed therapist and has worked with all kinds of people with major problems and she is blown away by the results. This is no joke. I am an ordinary person and I have been throught the mill and it was my saving grace.  Good Luck
