drinking alchohol while suffering with anxiety

hi, just wondering does anyone drink alchohol while sufferin wiv anxiety! I dont take meds but i would like to have a drink now an then bt now am to scared, i dont really gt ne of the sensations apart frm dizziness n sumtimes the breathing as i av learnt anxiety cant harm me! Please help!

i drink and i suffer from anxiety i get anxiety alot but i dont have issues when i drink. i dont take medication either.

When I had my first panic attack the anxiety never went away and before I got help, alcohol was the only thing that made me feel somewhat normal. It's similar to a benzodiazepine so that's probably why. You should be fine if you drank before and didn't have problems. Anxiety disorders tend to make us all into hypochondriacs also and focus on every sensation in our body and worry about our health.

If you quit drinking the anxiety will go away or at least be less bothersome and the panic attacks will be gone drinking does help the panic and anxiety go away but when you quit drinking for the night you will have panic or anxiety and  it gets worse it affects your heart  My heart used to skip beats the get extra beats  and would take my breath away I thought I was having a heart attack many trips to the hospital the day after drinking alot  I would never say I had been drinking I didnt want that to be the problem  Im an alcoholic have been for years anxiety kept me drinking now Im sober its great

by the way Im not me14 its her mom posting didnt want you all to think that a 14 year old was an alcoholic lol Im 37 but was drinking at her age because found out anxiety went away after a drink or 4 lol but not really funny
