I take it, and I was TERRIFIED to try it with all of the horror stories.  Let me say, I love it.  Panic and anxiety 90% gone.  No scary side effects.  I am on 150mg.  Started on 75mg for 6 weeks, then bumped up for the last 6 weeks or so.  I have previously been on Prozac, and Paxil, and this works just as well.  I quit the Prozac because it stopped working after 2 years, and the Pail made me super tired.  I am not worried about withdrawl, though, because I plan to be on something for life, and you don't get withdrawl if you transition to something else, only if you stop the effeor cold turkey.  The only thing that would deter me from trying it is if you are only planning to be on something short term.  In that case, Prozac would be the one to try, since it has the longest half-life, so it is easier to stop taking.

Withdrawal is always a concern with any medication but I have to agree with you that when you are transitioning from one med to another the chance of having withdrawal from the previous med is very low!!!!! I've had panic/anxiety for 15 years and have had a smooth transition with most of my medications so dont give up!!
