I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if Microcytic Anemia could cause a nonspecific lateral st abnormality on an ecgEcg Electrocardiogram (ecg) Exercise stress test Post myocardial infarction ecg wave tracings report. Doc says she doesnt "think" theres anything to worry about do I go and get a second opinion. Has anyone else had this abnormality on their egc reports. Im very scared as this is my heart not the docs heart. And yes its bringing on the anxiety more. Please help.
The key term here is "non-specific", as in the findings do not suggest a definite underlying pathology. Further testing would be indicated to rule out or prove disease.
Anemia (in any form), is one. You mention the drug Tofranil in an earlier post. This too can cause non-specific ECG changes.

In short, I wouldn't be overly concerned with these findings once the ECG is verified by a Cardiologist. The computer generated interpretations are usually grossly misrepresented.
If the ECG were truly of concern, you would have been admitted to the hospital immediately.
