extremely scary thoughts

ok i need help really badly i have had anxiety for about a month now and i have had on and off thoughts that literally scare the crap out of me. the worst one yet is all over the movie the exorcist and i have never seen that movie but i have heard about it and i am very scared. i went to my therapist and told her she said it was the anxiety. i finally got rid of it for a maximum of two days after talking to my principal and she said she had the same thing over the same movie.so i was fine until this morning. i woke up and was thinking about something that scared me and i just thought ok this is just a thought and i can get through this and it went away. then i started thinking about ghosts and thats what set it off. now i'm worried it's gonna happen to me and then i started thinking what if this isn't anxiety and i'm being possessed or something. i feel so freakin crazy it's not even funny. before this if i was to have heard anything about that movie i would have been just fine and wouldn't even worry about it. i just can't take feeling like this. i'm not crazy i'm just super scared and i keep trying to tell myself that the only reason stuff like that happens is because of cults in the house previously and stuff like ouiji boards and all that which my family does not allow because they believe they aren't good. is it true though that this is just anxiety going on. and can somone please tell me this stuff only happens when cults have been in the house or when people are just messing with things like ouiji boards and stuff like that because i would feel better if that were the case. has anyone ever felt this way before because i feel really alone on this one.

Thats a great attitude to have,   you'll be fine.     I purposely avoid movies and tv shows that are graphic.      Always remember,   the producers of these shows are going to extreme lengths to make gory and scarey shows since many people out there actually enjoy them so the producers find them real profitable.    But those of us too sensitive to deal with it should avoid them flat out.

Therapy and go to pleasant movies.  Scary movies are designed to manipulate emotions.

Your anxiety is causing you to focus on this fear of the unnatural, and remember that fear feeds anxiety.  There are movies that scare us and can stay with us, but you have to put them out of your mind and accept that it is a movie, not real.  It's just your anxiety causing you to obcess about scary things.  Continue with therapy as this will help you.  I don't think there was anyone NOT scared by the Exorcist, but it was just a movie.  Jaws was just as scary and kept people out of the water.  You need to not dwell on these things, I know it's easier said than done, but this is feeding you anxiety.  Try to stay busy with friends and such, have fun with your life.  Concentrate on what is real.

You sound very young and impressionable,  meaning you can get scared by thoughts you feel have truth to them.     You're better off to continue to get therapy.      Plus you should spend more time socializing with friends like going to the mall.
