I don't know if I am in the right place for this or not, but I have been fainting since I was 13 (now 30). It used to happen for no apparent reason (not from stress) & I went through many tests (EEG, EKGAtrioventricular block, ekg tracing Ecg Exercise stress test, etc) before they did the tilt-table test & figured out it was when adreneline was released into my system that heart rate went up/blood pressurePressure ulcer down. I was on nadalol (sp)? for years, but it didn't work all the time so I just went off it & sat down when I started feeling ready to faint. Now, though, whenever I am in a stressful situation (public speaking or even nervous about anything) I have the strong chance of passing out (or getting close enough to feel like a fool). This is now interfering w/my personal & professional activities - I was wondering if there were new treatments or medications that can help? I have a wedding I am in, just in a couple of weeks, & know I am going to have a problem (it's a long wedding too). I have made an appt. w/my doctor to get a referral to the doctor I went to before, but know I won't get in before that. Do you have any suggestions? Anything would be much appreciated!
Hi Kay, I have the same problem, i have been fainting on and off for 30 years, with me though they havent yet found a cause, i am currently going through all the tests, i got married last week and was terrified i was going to faint, i didnt thank goodness but i didnt enjoy the day as much as i wanted, i went to my doctor a few days before to get something to hopefully help me through but unfortunatley he couldnt give me anything, he said because they think its my blood pressurePressure ulcer dropping anything he gave me to calm my nerves would lower my bp even more, all i can suggest is the day before the wedding make sure you chill out, get a good nights sleep, on the day take things one step at a time, dont concentrate on the actuall ceromony, what is it your actually doing at the wedding? the more you think about fainting the worse you will feel, i know its easy saying these things because thats all i thought about even saying my vows i was thinking i was going to faint, good luck, let me know how you get on, jo
