I feel the same way.  I was just put on ativan a couple days ago.  Right now I'm taking 1/2mg in the am, 1/2 mg around 5:00pm and another 1/2 mg. before bed.  My anxiety has been terrible.  Upset stomach (even to keep me from eating anything at all), shaking, heart palps, feels like I can't breathe and jittery.  I'm afraid I'll be on the ativan the rest of my life!  Although, without it,  I might as well be dead because I can't function at all.  I have an appointment with a psychologist in a couple of weeks and I hope to get some extra help from him.  The  only drawback from the ativan is I'm dizzy all day :(  I ride horses for fun and I refuse to give that up.  That's all I have left and I AM going to ride!

I am not familiar at all with diazepam. I can tell you that when I first started taking klonopin I felt extremely disoriented, kinda felt drunk I guess. But after a week or two I had no other side effects. The Klonopin does take about 15 minutes to kick in but I take it daily so it is constantly running thru my body. How does the diazepam make you feel and do you take it regularly or as needed

Take care!

Glad to hear it has slowed. That is a very scary feeling. I just had a panic attack about 5 minutes ago and was praying my klonopin would kick in soon!!!! It just did. YAY!

Try coughing. If that doesn't work  bear down as if you were giving birth of having a bowel movement. If that doesnt work throw ice cold water on your face.

What is your heart rate?
