Cognitive behavioral therapy. CBT for short. It can be a great type of therapy for people with anxiety, depression, OCD and other things.

Joshua, You are young. You don't need to worry about heart issues. I know this isn't easy for you understand because of your anxiety.  Like me I am young, but FREAK OUT about cancer, but even though I have had tons of tests, in my head I still think.... what if....... I realize I contradicting... I tell you not to worry and know you shouldn't, I know i shouldn't either, but still do... Anyways, i'm just trying to help you out. ENJOY LIFE.  If i worried about every chest pain i've ever had I would be in the hospital 24/7

There are many ideas about what causes heart problems. They're working on new meds to prevent it and they've started placing stents through the wrist. That's been going on for awhile now.
I know you're in therapy but are you doing CBT?

Thank you so much. I'm fine and I don't worry about having another one. Maybe because I'm a woman I had different symptoms. No chest pain. I just felt like I had a really bad sore throat. Since I know alot about heart attacks and heart disease I knew what was going on so I had my husband get me to the hospital. I had a stent placed the next day and they said the rest of my heart looked great.
You are so young, I know I keep saying that, but it's true. The chances of you having a heart attack at your age is almost nonexistent. A 25 year old just does'nt get blockages. None that I've ever heard of anyway.
Are you saying you have tried Lexapro or have'nt? That's what I take right now and it does help with anxiety. It can cause stomach problems for some people. Nausea and such. So, if you have GERD it may not be a med that works for you.
Oh yes, GERD can be awful. I have an uncle that has it and a couple of years ago he had his wife rush him to the hospital because he thought for sure he was having a heart attack. I know it can cause severe chest pain.He was diagnosed with GERD.
Some natural things that may help with this is aloe vera juice. You can buy it at any drug store and most grocery stores. It really helps calm the stomach. Yogurt is good too, unless your Dr has told you not to have dairy products.

I took all the SSRIs and the benzos so far that's about it the only ssru that hasn't is lexapro and the only benzo I take in emergency's that works on the little attacks is xanax. I do have ms and gerd which I was told cause all my chest and arm pain its shatper pain but when I goto the er when its that bad not even a smaller size if morphine will get it to go away so idk what it is. But I'm a grown man crying when it happens. I'm so sorry you had a heart attack I couldn't even imagine or deal with itif i had one I have no idea how you do. What did it feel like? Remar thank you so much for helping Me out. Also my food has been coming out in my stool undigested not all of it but the last few day I had carrots beans and pees In there the first day I noticed I ate a baked potato and it to wasnt all that digested

Many anxiety meds are safe for the heart. So are many antidepressants. Drs use antidepressants alot to treat anxiety.
No, I don't really have much health anxiety and I've had a heart attack. If you were having a heart attack you would most likely know. I was'nt afraid and I knew what was going on. I had faith that medicine has come so far and I would have no problems once I got to the hospital. It's been 2 1/2 years and I'm doing great. Just needed one stent.
I really think you should talk to your Dr about an anxiety med. It does'nt have to be an SSRI. I take both and do pretty well on them. There is just no need to suffer when you don't have to.
Can you say what you've tried before? It may not have been the right med for you or you may have been started on too high a dose.

I'm seeing a therapist but there's two things I'm deathly afraid of heart attacks and pills because of the side effects to the heart. Is your anxiety like mine do you worry like this am I the only one that spends time in the er over and over again for heart attacks that I feel are real but I guess aren't or hide from the public? I'm so lost I don't no if I can take meds one because I'm so afraid what SSRIs did to me in the past two I be leave my mind might even make sides effects up. How do others deal with this?

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. Believe me, I do understand. I have severe anxiety myself.
I really think it would be a good idea to consider meds to help with your anxiety.  Are you seeing a therapist or a psychiatrist? A therapist can not prescribe meds.

From what I know it takes a long time for plaque to build up. You're only 25 and your heart is fine. You've had lots of tests done to prove it.
I recommend that you quit looking things up on the internet because it's scaring you. See your Dr for regular check ups and start exercising. It really is great for your heart. It also helps with anxiety.

Little over a year I'd say. Well one day I was driving home and for no reason it felt like I was going to throw my heart rite up it started pounding and things started going black I was like this is the end I didn't no what to do went threw a bunch of tests they found nsvt. Then I thought I had cad and did for a long timed despite having an angio I still think I do. I read all the time about and how it can go from 0 plugged to 100 percent in less then a month. I read about it Dailey I can't stop I read about sedentary life styles causing it under over sleeping I just don't no how to avoid or get it out of my head. The newer study u read in was about stress and it being the biggest part which isn't anxiety a stress which I do all the time and try to stop but can't because of fear of this disease.

There's almost always a reason we start having anxiety. Can you think of anything at all that made you start worrying about your heart health?
I'm really glad to hear you're in therapy. How long have you been going?

Are you in therapy? If not, I highly recommend it.
You're so young that the chances of you having a heart attack are almost nonexistent.Exercise is great for heart health so you should get back to doing that.
Medicine has come so far. Many people, if they do have heart problems, can get them taken care of long before an actual heart attack.
