My doctor said it will take me a few weeks before the side effects subside. She said they should only kick in once i start taking a full tablet. But she is building me up slowly to that amount

Hi I'm new to this forum.  I just started the same meds on Sunday 7/3.  Seems to have taken the edge off already, but I'm still feeling very anxious, nervous and am tired of my hands being all clammy.  How long does it take to feel normal again?  Starting some therapy next week...can't wait.

I would have to agree that we all react differently to SSRIs like the one you have been prescribed.  I have taken different meds in the same class with success.  I believe that they helped me tremendously as I went through counseling.  They do take some time to 'build up' in your system, and I did initially notice that my anxiety went up a little when I started taking it (but that is probably due to my initial anxiety about taking it and some side effects as I was ajusting to the medication).

Keep us posted!

Everyone is different with anti-depressants.....where one might work for you it may not for me.....its a trial and error process.....it will probably take 4 to 8 weeks to fully get in your system for you to tell a difference....some people can tell a difference after only 2 weeks....like I said we all are different when it comes to these type of drugs....I wish you the best and hope it helps you with your anxiety....keep us posted ok....

God Bless,
