I understand your fears, I am the last person who can offer advice but PLEASE know that you are not alone!

OK, here is the deal.  I want you to do one of two things.  1.-go to the emergency room and get a full work up on your head to make sure it is not an anuyrism (sp?)... which it isn't because you would have been unconsious or much worse by now (sorry for my candor).

or 2. GET UP OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND GO FOR A WALK.  EVEN IF IT IS FOR FIVE MINUTES!  I don't care if it is snowing, raining, bitterly cold (here in NY)...but get the heck out of the house!!!

I do not mean to be so harsh, but you are not letting it go!  You are dwelling on it constantly!!  I am saying this because I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND!!!!  I WAS EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW!!!!!  My neurologist (who knew it was not a brain tumor although I insisted) told me that I had to get out of the house and go for a walk every day even if it killed me to do it.  AND THAT IS MY ADVICE TO YOU....RIGHT NOW!!  and then post back the minute you get in.  I will be checking the posts.  DO IT!!!

Hi Hollie, I think Suzi-Q gave you excellent advice! You know what, I think I am actually going to get out and go for a walk too. I think that might help me as well.

Let us know how you are doing, Hollie! Hope you feel better! :)

Hi Hollie, It's me, Penny, again. We must have posted at the same time. :)

Can you call a friend? Sometimes I can call an old friend on the phone and that makes me feel better.

Would meditation help? Maybe you can try that and try to calm yourself.

I have super-bad social anxiety, not so much of the general kind of anxiety. But, I really sympothize with you. I know what it is like to feel so anxious and scared, and to know it is irrational and stupid, but you still can't shake the feeling. (((((big hugs)))))

Seriously. Take Suzi-Q's advice and get out of the house today! Maybe go see a movie to get your mind off of the anxiety.

You are NOT--I repeat, NOT--having an aneurysm!!!  You know this, you know somewhere in your mind that you do know this! You know it is just that darn anxiety making you feel freaked out! Try to remember that, you are having anxiety...it is just anxiety....it is just anxiety.

You are not dying!!!! You would be dead by now!!!!  The Klonopin doesn't always take effect when you are having a bad anxiety attack.  What mg are you on?  Maybe you need to talk to your doctor about increasing the dosage?  (do NOT do it on your own).  Also Klonopin is NOT an immediate fix.  It takes an hour or two to get into your system.  Something like Xanax will give you that immediate feeling in like 20 minutes (I think it is Xanax...definitely valium).  I KNOW HOW SCARY IT IS!  My parents didn't believe me either in the beginning. I was at least older (28) and was able to go to doctors etc. and make my own money.... Do you go to school?  Do you work?  Are you in between right now??? Please let me know more about you so I can try to help.  GO FOR THAT WALK!!

Klonopin never helped with my headaches.  Only the symptoms of the anxiety.. (shaking, heart beating, numbness in my mouth, etc.)

IT IS NOT AN ANUERYSM!!(no idea how to spell that word!)  It is horrible to feel this way and I know that I cannot convince you, but you have to TRY to self talk.  You would be unconscious and in the hospital by now....You would probably be throwing up and have impaired vision. PLEASE TRY!

Hollie, I don't agree with you! lol

I think you ARE panicking. You had just said a little before that you were terrified....that you thought you were dying.

I am not going to agree with you that you are dying, because you are not. So there. :P

Take some EXCEDRIN MIGRAINE (over the counter, it's good stuff for a headache).

Hollie, You know I am now wondering...  How is your eyesight??  Do you need glasses?  Do you wear glasses?

I ask because I get headaches and my eyes hurt if I don't wear my glasses, but then I also get headaches and my eyes hurt if I wear my glasses! It does the same thing to me even with non-prescription regular sunglasses, it's like my temples and the bridge of my nose are sensitive. Also, a headache almost always makes my neck hurt. I hold all of my tension in my neck usually!

Just a thought!

Normally when you have an anurisim there are no symptoms until you are unconscience.  On some occassions there are warnings such as headaches, but when that occurs the pain is so bad you can't walk, and the pain only lasts a few days before it is over.

You have anxiety, and you need help with that.  See a therapist about CBT for your symptoms.

You are ruining your life with your worry, but I know that you are going through hell.  You do need some help with this.

Honey, you are NOT having an aneurysm. I understand the fear you are going through. Yet the back pain/neck pains are typical of Panic Attacks. I have been fighting the SAME neck pains/back pains for over a week now!! I even had an eye pain one day, so I know what you are talking about with that, too. It is due to you tensing up since you Panic and become SO nervous. Maybe take some Tylenol or Advil to decrease some of the pain (I would NOT recommend Excedrin, it has caffeine which can sometimes INCREASE anxiety), and try and relax. Yet the one thing you really need to try to do is RELAX, and DON'T stress out about it! I know, trust me, it is HARD!!! When you are physically in pain, you think something HAS to be wrong with you (physically). Even if you DO go for tests, they will only come back negative, because hon, you are FINE! Otherwise you would be dead on the floor by now if you had an aneurysm!!

I know, it is hard. Panic Disorder latches onto something and convinces you something else is wrong, only making you Panic more and make your life a living hell. For me I thought I had a severe case of Mitral Valve Prolapse and was going to die from it. Yet all the tests came back FINE! Because I AM FINE!! And you are fine, too!! Yet you NEED to convince yourself of this, and get your mind off this whole aneurysm thing!

Remember what I told you in the e-mails? Maybe take some nice, hot baths, and try your best to get your mind off of things, and just think of NOTHING. And there were also those relaxation techniques/meditation exercises I told you about. I know you said that you usually take baths after going to the sauna, but maybe try to take a bath more often! Relax, maybe put in some nice scented bubbles with those candles you told me about, and relax! :)

Hon, I know how difficult it is. You can go to the ER if it will help put your mind at ease, yet what will REALLY help is when you can convince yourself that there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING wrong with you, and that it is all in your mind! :) Only then will you truly be able to conquer your fears! :)

Best of luck, hon!

Sweetie -  if you had a burst aneurysm you would be paralyzed/comatosed/or dead by now.  If you have a aneurysm that hasnt burst you wouldnt have any symptoms! Conclusion: since you have head pain and are not paralyzed/comatosed/or dead you do not have a burst aneurysm (the symptoms would come on VERY rapidly)

Why can't you go to the doctor or the ER?  Tell your parents how you are feeling.  I am sure that if they know that you are really scared they will take you.  Seriously.

After reading your comments, I am hopeful that I too am just having Anxiety issues. I am experiencing severe headaches / migraines and literally feel as though I am going to burst something or perhaps even die. This has been occurring for one week straight now and will not subside, even for a moment. Though I have experienced these symptoms briefly and less frequently throughout my life, this past week has been a literal hell.  I rarely sleep unless I pass out from exhaustion, experience a feeling of brain swelling and throbbing headaches accompanied with stabbing pain in varying areas of my head. Over the counter medications have ill effect and this is literally controlling my life… I can't take it any longer. My motor skills weaken; I find myself stepping over my words, experience body pain in several areas, as well as nervousness and of course fear. I have been to the hospital 3 times this week and all tests including CT scan have shown nothing irregular. Perhaps it’s just the fear, but I effectively convince myself that I am on the verge of an aneurysm or something similar. To be honest, hearing that I am not alone helps the situation some…I am one of those people who have an extreme fear of death and this matter surely doesn’t help matters much. As they say, misery loves company and enduring humanities shared fate can be less difficult if there is someone with common feelings to confide in. I am glad to have found this forum where I can realize I’m not alone. I hope all who are feeling similar symptoms will soon be feeling their best again. My sympathies are with you as I too suffer as you do.
Take care and all advice is definitely welcome.

Thanks in advance
Sincerely: stri

my husband died of a aneurysm, he did not have days or weks to feel the pain, they are not like that. when they accure they kill you than not days or weeks later , his brother also had one and his mother and his cousin, they can run in the family plus i have had friends who have died from them. if you had one you would be gone by now, its not one its a headack from the stress you are putting yourself under , anxiety will do that and somewhere in your mind when you got the headack/neck you put yourself in to thinking you had a aneurysm and from there its gotton worse. but you will not belive anyone so you need to go to dr have a head/nack scan they can tell you right than that you are fine. dont understand why parents wont take you give you peace of mind, do you have insurance. hope your day is better today stop thinking about it , take some migrane (migraine) asprin for it . barbara
