Wait, I just found something else it could be... fibroids. My mom had these and had to have a hysterecotomy at around the age of 40. My symptoms match these too.Wow I think I need to get away from this computer!!!
i) cancer would likely present itself on the ultrasound and you would experience other symptoms which would NOT be cycle related (pain, bleeding, would occur throughout the month). Q: Did you have a PAP smear at your appointment?
ii) 30% of fibroids (benign growths of muscle on the uterus wall) can actually be felt during a pelvic exam and those that can't, but are large enough to cause physical problems, can be seen with an ultrasound. It seems pretty unlikely that fibroids are causing your symptoms. BTW, 75% of women have fibroids but they are small enough that they dont cause any symptoms!
iii) Based on your doctors findings, and your symptoms, it DOES sound like you have endomentriosis. Your doctor has YEARS of training and would have identified anything "serious" at your appointment. I would trust your doctors advise on this one and go to your scheduled follow-up appoint at the end of July. However, if you cant put your mind at ease by all means make an earlier appointment.
Thanks for the smack!! That is what I have been thinking. I found articles saying that birth control pill is supposed to help with endometriosis, so I will have one, possibly two more full cycles of the pill before the doc. so, I think that should give me a good indicator. My last pap was done last July, I only go once a year. She didnt suggest endo, I just found that on my own. I am thinking because I was off the pill for 5 months, it started to show itself. But hopefully now, if that is it, it will start to subside again. Anyway, thank you for putting my mind at ease- for now!!! I do feel better. Endometriosis can be treated- I was just really freaking out over the cancer thing!! Thank you!!!!
Hey torque!
Going through fibroids myself these days...i was put on the pill in hopes to shrink them or to stop their growth...however, I don't get my period AT ALL on the pill and was very regular without them...now on a different pill to hopefully get my period this month...wish me luck...believe me, after 3 sonograms in the last year, I still am terrified of ovarian and uterine cancer....it is the nature of our anxiety...DON'T YA' HATE IT??? now my doctor did a blood screening on me where my LDH level was extremely high...of course I went to the internet and now think I have muscle disfunctioning in my body...have to get the blood repeated and am terrified to do so....SO I AM HERE WITH YOU!!! we are fine...we are fine....we are fine.....and here is a big SMACK for you!!! Please send one back to me!!!!
Thanks suzi!! Smack back at ya! You are right we will be fine!! A day after I posted that, my stomach issues went away. Go figure. my period is due this week, so we will see how it goes. Is that bad that we wish for our periods??? I am not ready to be pregnant, still am unsure if we want kids or not. More no than yes. Anyway, good luck!!! Keep me posted on your next blood work. Maybe it will look better!! I am hoping my tests look better too!
