First of all, you should not go off any medication without your doctor's permission and you definitely need to be weaned off.  I don't know why you want to be taken off the medication so quickly if it is helping you....I would suggest you stay on the Paxil for a while longer.  Usually, a doctor will keep you on it for at least 6 months...it is not the kind of medication you take and then "BAM" you are better.  It is helping you to see clearer and getting rid of the symptoms so you can better see the underlying causes....THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, but, I bet that if you go off it now, your symptoms will come back...you need my time....BUT IF YOU INSIST, YOU MUST SPEAK TO THE DOCTOR ABOUT IT!!!

I got off paxil very slowly. I only did it because of the sexual side effects and the intense teeth griding, it made my tmj worse. I would shave a little off my pills slowly over a month until I had nothing left. I am now feeling worse that I have been off and I am going to get back on it. I didn't think it did much for me but it obviously did.

How long have you been off of it?  Could it still be the withdrawal?  I know when my sister went off the withdrawal was terrible...she went back on too.

I've been taking Paxil daily for three months, 10 mg, and have stopped taking it 3 days ago. For three or four days, I took half a pill, hoping that once I finally just stopped taking it, I wouldn't experience any of the side effects. Unforunetly, I have and I have laid in bed for practically 3 days. I have felt so dizzy, it's hard to even walk. My heart also beats irregularly every so often. I would talk with your doctor first and see what he or she feels is best for you. Good luck!!
