has anyone been on meds while pregnant?

I am about 2 months pregnant, and my doctor weened me off of the Klonopin.  A few days after, I went back to the doctors in tears, because my anxiety was so bad.  I was taking 1 mg twice a day.  Anyway, my doctor then said to keep taking the meds, because in this stage of the pregnancy it can not hurt.  I have been looking up alot of sites, which all contradict him.  Can anyone help me?

i am almost 10 weeks pregnant. Before i got pregnant i went down from 100mg of zoloft to 50mg of zoloft. at 5 weeks pregnant i had a relapse of depression/panic and anxiety. i am now on 150mg of zoloft and have felt only a little progress. it is almost 4 weeks later. I know it takes time for the zoloft to kick in, but im nervous that it isnt going to work the same. It took 3 1/2 weeks for it to kick in the last time, and it worked at 100mg. now im on 150mg. anyone have any advice. I need hope. if it worked once will it work again?

I am brand new to this site, just found it today and i am glad. I am 13 weeks pregnant, and I ahve had anxiety for 18 years. I have been taking Klonipin 1.5 mg per day for about 8 years and  also Lexapro 10mg for the past 2 years. I saw an APRN in the early part of thsi year to safely get off both the last few weeks have been a complete nightmare. I dont liek to leave the house alone and i cant drive anywhere on my own for fear of an anxiety attack. My OB/GYN is totally unhelpful and literally scolds me for needing to take a med during pregnancy. im really unhappy with the doctirs in my group. She recently prescribed me Zoloft which gave me awful stomach issues. Now she prescribed Prozac, 20mg, but get this - the anxiety queen that i am, ive had the RX for a week and ive been too terrified to take it. (part of my anxiety - new meds freak me out) Anyway my husband has convinced me to give it a try, because the only other option as a complete and total last rersort is to go back to my lexapro, (which by the way is a lifesaver for me) which could be okay but could be risky as there arent any good studies on it in pregnancy. The anxiety has been so awful that i am starting to have some depression too, which obviously is not good. Im in such a rotten situation! anyway just looking to commiserate! or talk with any other preggers who are going through the anxiety / panic in pregnancy difficulties. I wish everyone luck and well being!!!!

I am on klonopin for anxiety.  I have also heard that if I stop the meds abruptly, I could possibly have a seizure.  All of your help is appreciated.

Thank you

I have been on klonopin for 11 years, I started at 1 mg 3 times a day.  I am also taking mirtazapine
(remeron) and prozac.  My doctor also prescribed labetolol for high blood pressure.  I do not have high blood pressure, but he said that it would lower my heart rate and block excess adreneline.  I just do not understand why my doctor said that the first trimester is safe for the meds.  I am nervous about stopping, because I have been on the meds for a long time, and can not function w/o them.  I still have anxiety with the meds that I am taking.  I will, however take ryans advice.  I have my first prenatal appt, next Wednesday.  I will talk to them about the dosage, and what other meds are safe.

yes I was on fluoxentine, or the generic for prozac, only 20mg took the lowest does. i still felt anxiety . However I could handle it. as for the anxiety that you had after getting off of the klonopin, Ryan can help wean you off of those meds, as per his words you can have a rebound effect the anxiety could get really bad if you do not get off the meds properly. hope all is well and congrats.

Hi,
Are you on klonopin for anxiety or to control seizures?
Either way, ask a pharmacist, they are the pros.  Is that doctor you are referring to a family practioner or a OB/GYN?
Rest assured.............alot of these types of meds are safe during pregnancy.  Double check with a pro.
Congrats on your pregnancy!
