I was diagnosed with hashimoto disease (thyroid) and gravesGraves disease disease. I had anxiety attack and fearFears and phobias and the doctor put me on risperadol to combat the thyroid symptoms while they got my thyroid under controlControl Control rx. It worked great and I was able to function without too much trouble My thyroid is now in the normalNormal saline flush range and the doctor took me off the risperadol (I was having problems with the medication by this time and wanted off). For the firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc two weeks I was fine but all of the sudden I felt physically bad and then the next day started with mentalMental retardation Mental status tests fear and panic. I called the doctor and he said maybe I would have to go back on it for a while longer. My counselor said we could try cognitive therapy. My question is has anyone taken risperado and how did you come off of it and how long did it take to get back to normal. It is my understanding that the risiperado changes the chemicals in you brain. I donot have schizaphrenia or bipolar disease. He gave me a very little dose and it did work for my symptoms. I do not want to go back on that drug ever again. thanks hoping someone can help. linda
