Hi everyone, I know i have mentioned this one before but I just wanted to seek more advice. Sorry to be a pain
I have become increasingly worried about my heart in general but Im focusing on the raet at the moment.
I read somewhere that the slower your heart rate drops the more likely that you have heart disease.
I just did a fast vigorous 5 mins on the exercise bike i checked my rate after the 6th minute and it was 170bpm then i stoped and checked it after 90 seconds and it was 145 then i waited two minutes and it was 125bpm. Then i checked it 5 mins and it had only slowed down to 103bpm. Then it lingers there for about half an hour then slowly drops to 90bpm then eventually drops back to the normalNormal saline flush 70. Is this normalNormal saline flush? Bascially im worried about the part where it stays lingering around the 90s to 100s for about an hour. I know this isnt really high but i just dont like it lingering. I am quite unfit for my age (littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys over weight) could it just be that im not as fit as i should be?
Since this is a very specific heart-related question, I would suggest you repost this on the heart forum - the people there would be better able to answer your question.
Also, what help are you getting for your hypochondias which appears to be consuming your life?
Athletes have a slower resting heart than non athletes. My resting heart rate is in the 75-85 range and I have read that athletes can run as low as 45. After a few cups of coffee in the morning my rate runs around 100-105. What you described above seems perfectly normal. You need to accept that if you want to resolve your worries about it because your worries are whats feeding the anxiety about it.
Your heart rate should fall twenty beats during the first minute of rest, so you seem to be doing fine. A normal resting heart rate for a non-athlete adult is 60-100 bpm. Those taking beta blockers will have a lower rate, however. Athletes will also have a much lower rate, but they'll still have a normal recovery time. You are doing fine. I (as a non-medical person, of course), would just advise you not to overdo. Build up your stamina and endurance gradually. But don't give up! Good luck.
