this is kinda hard to get out....but....
here it goes....(deep breath)

I recently emailed a cardiologist asking him if xanax would have any effect on the results of my heart tests that another cardiologist performed on me back in June of last year. His email response was the following : "Xanax would NOT have any effect on the results of your tests." After he responded with his answer, i noticed that i made a typo in the question that i emailed to him. I spelled the word "received" incorrectly and accidently typed "recieved" instead (Putting the "I" before the "E") ....This typo started to really bother me and i then  started thinking that maybe xanax really DOES have an effect on these heart tests & I also started thinking that the cardiologist who got my email is lying to me because i spelled the word "received" incorrectly...!

Is this obsessive thought rational or irrational???

i know that this must sound rather silly to most, but believe it or not, it is giving me alot of anxiety and i cannot stop obsessing about it....

i'm sorry for the length of this email

To put it bluntly you are over thinking this! I have experienced the same scenario and over thinking causes a lot more stress than its worth!

that is definatly an irrational thought. you should try to see a therapist to change the way you think. cognitive therapy can help alot to change your distorted thought patterns back to normal

You asked this a while ago on another forum so it is obviously still bothering you quite a bit.  It is an irrational fear.  Please see a doctor and tell them everything.

Good luck.

I remember this post from once before.  RELAX!  No doctor would hold that against you!  Call him and ask him again or ask another cardiologist to confirm the answer.

Secondly, THIS IS DEFINITELY OBSESSIVE THINKING.  PLEASE GET TO A THERAPIST.  You need to get help to help control your over-thinking and obsessions.

Totally do your best to relax brotha!  Your are definitely off in left field.  Absolutely check in with a head doctor, and don't feel the least bad about it!  Ya need some outside help, and there's no shame in that game!  It takes time too.  Hang in there!
