hi everyone

Hi all. I'm a pretty healthy 27 year old.  I'm also an actor, and i've never had a problem speaking to anyone or performing in front of thousands of people.  Recently I was at work and realized that my words were stuttering and that it's difficult sometimes to speak as fluidly as I used too, and I feel like I sound different even though everyone tells me they're not noticing anything.  I have had problems with anxiety in the past.  Googling things on the internet, just last night I was convinced I have ALS, I even had an MRI two years ago to make sure the tingling I had wasn't MS, along with other things i've had.  Has anyone ever had their anxiety affect their speech. I refuse to take xanax because I don't want to take any pills and have never had speech problems in my life.  It seems to go away when i'm less stressed. Anyone know how I could fix this problem, or could it be something serious?

what are the chances that this is ALS. Went go my GP and he did a neurological exam and took blood tests where he said they were all normal.  He had me stand on one foot and pick up a heavy book with my other hand and he said if I even had the onset of ALS I wouldn't be able to do that.  I'm just, I don't know, stressed beyond belief.

Stress can do many things to our body from upsetting our stomach to being overwhelming to the extent that we find it hard to think straight and articulate our thoughts. I would try to figure out what if anything is bothering you and what can you do to reduce it's effect. Make sure you take care of yourself and don't overdo it.
