how long should it take Paxil to work

My doctor just prescribed Paxil to me today and I was wondering how long it will be before I can expect to feel the results. I was also given some Ativan to take the edge off and it seems to help. I look forward to any replies.

Agree with what has ben said so far and the medication does work.

In my case was 2 weeks to take full effect, just never stop taking your dose and never miss the schedule this medication is serious.

It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for Paxil to reach therapeutic levels. Use the Ativan only when absolutely needed, but it's good your doctor gave you something to help until the med kicks in fully.
