how to stop anxiety in its tracks

Ok I really hate having these attacks I am tierd of crying so I am starting to fight back this is a battle I am not willing tok lose as I write this I am trying to over come an attack because I've have had it . I don't know how people let them self suffer this cruilty of an illness for years. I can't its been 8 months and I am not going to let this preceed . Has any one over come anxiety panic disorders if so let me know how what did you do I am willing to listen and learn

first of all, are you okay?

and the best thing that has helped me, is to go online and read what others have gone through during a panic attack. i know it sounds silly for someone to do this, but it helps me because it makes me realize during an attack that i am not dying or having a heart attack - and instead - that millions of people go through this each and everyday.

for some reason, it just helps knowing that, in that very moment, i am not alone and i am not the only one that has gone through it.

Hi, I know what your going thru with panic attacks, it is hard when u suffer, but u got to fight it, it can not take over us, what I do is take negative thoughts out and think positive happy thoughts.

@theaddict I am ok just tired of these misserable attacks lately I been doing the same thing you said that you do , it does help but at the end of the day you notice that what we really doing is trying to fight it off and at times I get tired of fighting


@mal I do that as well but I am not giving up on doing research unil I find a solution or answer that will put an end to these attacks once and for all and I don't mean meds I not going to do it . I refuse to subject my body to a pill that I will later have a problem getting off due to addiction no way I am going to continue the natural way and will over come this once and for all and try to help many others like me over come this too

hi, am here to tell you ,you can over come it and get back to normal life.  i have had it for years, it has house bound me and maked my life hel-, but i have learn to live with it and now i have it so much less i can go years without it .

first you need a good person who understand what your going throught, one who will be there no matter what time it is so you can talk to them. sit with them have them touch you and tell you its ok, my hubby is my person hes the best just hearing his voice on the phone helps me get throught it.

next you have to keep telling your self your ok its only your mind doing this, it can do all kinds of things and you not know it. yes thats right your doing it to yourself proven fact. so when it starts get busy, find things to do even if you dont feel like it, it will go away or get better

next DO NOT let it HOUSE BOUND YOU, if you ever get scared and stop going out your in trouble. your mind will do it everytime. so again no matter how scared you are go out and do things, take your person with you even if its on the cell phone.

have a good check up and know your healthy that way when it startes you know its just you thinking and doing it.

i went on klonopin for a month when mine got so bad i could not get on my feet. i donot take meds everyday . do not like ssri because they go throught your brain and you will need them always. so i take ones that i can get on my feet than get off of them, i have not had meds in 4 years.

get a good dr and a great support person and go with it, it will get better and it will go away and Yes it will come back with something different but you can break it down and live a normal life, if you have always had a normal life. pulling for all of ya.

p.s take vitaims B they are great for anxiety, have a blood test done to make sure its good lots times the anxiety will deletew it and make anxiety worse. so have that checked.

I seem to be having luck with regular workouts, eating 3 meals a day, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, massages, a multi-vitamin called "stress essentials"  which has valerian root and passion flower in it as well, and a chinese herbal supplement called "peaceful spirit formula".  I'm with you, I don't want to get on meds and these are the natural remedies I believe to be working.  Hope this helps and good luck!
