Hello there,

The behaviour you are describing is perfectly normal for someone with GAD and it's maybe turning out to be health anxiety.

Your doctor wants you on Paroxetine ( Paxil ). The most common effect is nausea and it most people it go away after a week or so and when increasing dosage the same process can repeats. You may want to speak to your doctor about another drug called Cymbalta which is a SNRI rather than a SSRI like Paxil. Or even talk about Lexapro ( SSRI ). Studies are showing an excellent sucess rate with both
Lexapro and Cymbalta and this is why they are on top of my list too and i have success right now with Cymbalta. The only side effect i had was nausea and it went away. I don't feel like a ''zombie''.

No drug can fit all so the better way to know what drug is for you is to give them a try and this can be a long process since to see the effectiveness of an anti-depressant, especially the SSRI and SNRI, you have to give them at least 2-3 weeks untill you can see the benefits.

Please note that i'm not a doctor and all i did was giving you suggestions. You can write down Lexapro and Cymbalta on a paper do bring to your doctor if h'es not aware of those drug ( my doctor didn't know about Cymbalta and it's very effective but it's a new drug so doctor can ignore about some new drugs and can be used to prescribe the same anti-depressant to many people ). Anyway you should listen to you doctor and maybe suggesting the alternatives.

Note that physical activity and healthy diet and talk therapy is highly recommended to treat anxiety if you don't want to be on meds. The body have been designed to move and eat bio. What else can i say...

Anyway i repeat i am not a doctor and you should consult your doctor and speak to him about it.
