okay so on wendsday, i got this horrible headache
i dont think ive ever had one that bad.
it was the back of my head , but more in the front, and pounding in my temples.
it hurt so much. i think it lasted like 6 hours and then i took a tylenol and it went away two hours after that.
so 8 hours all together (is that normal)
i was anxious the entire time i had this headache.
the next morning, my temples till had a dull ache in them, and this morning they do as well.
is this my mind?
cuz im scared of getting another headache again.
my temples arnt pounding or anything, there just a dull ache.
..i think i have a brain tumor or a broken blood vesel thats gunna kill me.
ive been extreeeeeeeemly anxious cuz of this.
and today its still a dull ache.
im scared theres pressure in my brain, and its gunna explode.
is this normal?
help.
i do have some kind of sinus pain, that comes and goes.
and my right eye has been twitching on and off lol
im deathy afraid that theres a brain problem or something.
i do pick my ears alot, with bobby pins and my right ear gland has been swollen for a few days.
but this never happened before when i picked my ears.
will the temple ache go away?
im scared.
thanks.

I do think it is all in your mind, but like I said... anxiety causes headaches. If you are constantly thinking about it, you can actually MAKE yourself feel things. Just an example, I thought I was pregnant a few weeks ago and I kept thinking about it... I made myself think my breasts were bigger and sore and thought I could actually FEEL the baby kicking! I took a pregnancy test that came back negative and got my period and miraculously.... ALL THE SYMPTOMS VANISHED! Just a thought...

Good for you, Sweetie! You're taking the bull by the horns and getting some answers and some help and being pro-active in your own health care and I'm really, really proud of you! It takes courage to do what you're doing and you should be proud of yourself as well.
We ALL get monster headaches from time to time..........that's life and I will trust that you spoke with your doctor about yours. I know it was one of the things that had you so freaked out. If you continue to have really bad ones, your doc can give you something stronger than an OTC, but cross THAT bridge when you get to it.

And imagine a doctor telling you to stop sticking sharp objects in your ears! He must be a GENIUS!  LOL

Let us know how you're doing, OK? It's all gonna start getting better now and you deserve it!
Love and peace

Hi. I see you're back and your headaches have apparently not gotten any better. Did you see your doctor, like I advised, to check if you had an ear or sinus infection from stuffing bobby pins in your ears? An ear or sinus infection (and they are ALL connected) will most definitely cause you to have headaches and swollen glands. I also advised having your eyes checked as well for the headaches. And the constant worry will create constant tension which will cause constant headaches, especially the type you describe and which have NOTHING to do with brain tumors.
Since you have told us how extremely anxious this is making you, you REALLY do need to see a doctor and discuss all these symptoms with him/her. We cannot give you a diagnosis, we can offer advice such as laying in a darkened room, taking some Tylenol (or your OTC choice of pain meds) perhaps listening to quiet, soothing music and see if this helps not only your headache, but your anxiety, but we cannot PROMISE you that you don't have a brain tumor, (which, I repeat, I don't believe for one second you have, nor is your head going to explode) nor do you have a blood vessel that has ruptured, which is called a stroke and trust me, you'd know if you'd "blown a gasket!" Pardon the bit of humor, I'm taking your issues very seriously, but I will repeat, once more, that you need to see your doctor and have him rule out all these things you are terrified of and then have a good long talk about your anxiety.
I know it's scary going to the doctor if you fear they are going to find that elusive brain tumor or other horrible things, but they won't, and then you can get off this crazy merry-go-round.
Let us know what the doctor says, OK?
Peace

Hi there, first of all... don't put bobby pins in your ears! Your glands swell when they are fighting off infection, so you've probably scratched your ear and your body is fighting the infection. As far as headaches go... If you had a brain tumor or something else you would know... the pain would be excrutiating. I know how you feel, I thought I had a brain tumor before... I even had all the tests I could to prove I didn't have one. And if you read alot of the blogs on this forum, you will see HIV and brain tumors are the top things that people with anxiety think they have (I don't know whay that is).
SO onto the headaches.... the more anxious you are, the more headaches you will get. It's a vicious cycle, I know. Tension builds up in your neck and moves to your head, giving you killer pressure headaches (you feel like your head will explode). You need to lay down, put a warm compress on your neck and take a couple of Tylenol, Advil whatever and close your eyes and relax. This may not be an instant cure, but continue the process until you feel better. I would also see a doctor if you haven't already about getting the anxiety under control... it's not worth the headache!
