by trident413, Jun 02, 2008 10:15AM
has anyone had one pupil be larger than the other? I also have a certain bluriness in one eye that starts half way through my day! My right pupil gets larger than the other but 5 minutes later it might be the same size sometimes still not the same though! Is this all anxiety...i do have pretty severe anxiety where i dont tend to think positive so i think its just nerve stuff goin on! My muscle near my eye always twitches too which makes me think that its just anxiety!ANyone else had any of this before?

Hello,

My right pupil is frequently larger than my left (no medication), and when I am tired I notice that I squint that eye more than the other.  I have never really correlated it to anything because my eyes have been checked and they are fine---and I rarely have any vision problems. So---it could be anxiety---or you could just have an overactive pupil :)

If it is bothersome, though, I would certainly have it checked out.

I've had that countless times. It just becomes annoying after a while, although it could possibly worsen a little. I've got pressure behind my right eye and it tends to be blurrier than the left. I've also been getting blurring followed by a straight-line static thing, plus what I can only describe as clear while lines of lightning.

Just informing you of that so you know. I had the same reassurance from someone else and freaked when it got worse.

It'll either end up going or you'll learn to find it annoying.

Hope that's helped.

thats crazy, i have the same thing. my anxiety came on after terrible alcohol withdrawals. but i still have a great amount of anxiety...but one pupil is still larger than the other. i had it checked by my doctor, and had an eye exam. everything was fine and they said it must have just been a congenital thing that i was born with. funny i never noticed it until i had bad anxiety....

I have had this happen to me about 4 times where it was evident for most of a day and a handful of times where it was just fleeting. It only happens to me as I am about to make hard life changing choices or I am extremely stressed about money. Usually before I get it I would have trouble sleeping for about a week, have atleast one migrane, and eye pressure. I believe its just a symptom of high levels of physical and/or emotional stress and anxiety. This would only be a sign of something worse if your pupils did not respond to changes in light.
