I am 61 years old and have suffered from anxiety for the past 12 years. I no longer have periods (since 51 years old)but I find that at the time of month when I was having periods (usually mid month) my anxiety symptoms worsen. Since I no longer have periods I was wondering if anyone knows why these symptoms would get worse every moth at this time.

It sounds like this could be hormone related. Are you taking any hormone replacement therapy?
After menopause you still have some estrogenHormone replacement therapy but progesterone and testosterone really drop.
If I were you I would go to my Gyno Dr and have my hormones checked because they may be way out of balance.
It looks like your anxiety started when you stopped having periods so your may be estrogenHormone replacement therapy dominate which can cause anxiety. I hope this helps. Take care and keep us up to date on how your doing.
