klonopin cures? Abdominal Muscle Pain (anxiety related)??

Ive had this pain in my abdominal muscle for about three years but lately it has become consistent. And believe me being the hypochondriac that I am I have gone to numerous doctors getting tests done. I mean this pain has recently gotten bad and it seems to have grown and grown over the last 3 months. I had pretty much all the tests done possible to these doctors, Endonoscopy (for possible stomach problems), like 3 chest/abdominal cat scans  over the years (look at the tissue/organs), blood tests, abdominal ultra sound. Nothing has ever shown up, while I still think that something is wrong with the muscle there I think my anxiety/depression is making it 5 times worse. When I take Klonopin pain is reduced 1/2 to 3/4th of the orginal pain, does this mean its party anxiety related? Or does klonopin just reduce pain?

It certainly sounds to me like you've been scoped, scaned, X-rayed, poked and prodded enough that it's safe to rule out an abdominal problem. Since you believe this is an issue with your abdominal muscle, that raises the question "have you ever seriously injured this muscle?" If so, it's possble it hasn't healed correctly, therefore being more vulnerable to re-injury, or you may have some adhesions that are causing this pain. I'm not a doctor, so those are complete guesses. But I would guess that some of the tests you've had would show these probems.
The most telling part of your story is that when you take Klonopin, the pain is reduced by as much as 3/4! And since Klonopin has no affinity for pain, I'm thinking you've pretty much got your answer. Which is that your anxiety and hypochondria are keeping your abdominal muscles tensed to the point of pain, you relieve the tension, you relieve the pain. After three years, that is probably why the Klonopin can only reduce the pain by 3/4. That muscle can no longer completely relax........and that is what is keeping this cycle going around and around. This is just my totally unprofessional opinion, but for an amateur I think it's a pretty good theory!
If you are on Klonopin for anxiety and know yourself to be a hypochondriac, you need to be in therapy for both those issues. Meds work wonders, but they just mask your symptoms. If you want to recover and get on with life, you must first figure out why you have these disorders. Until you do, I hope you've got really good insurance because you're going to be spending a lot of money of doctors.
