I think Lexapro can be poisonAmmonia poisoning Campylobacter enteritis Contact dermatitis E. coli enteritis Food poisoning Lead poisoning Meningococcemia Methylmercury poisoning Poison control center - emergency number Poison ivy - oak - sumac Poison ivy - oak - sumac rash for some people. I think you should ween yourself off of it. I took one 10mg. pill almost 6 months ago and am still suffering terribly from the drug. I lost my job, house and all my savings. I will say that my experience is rare but I have found 9 others online with a very similar situation. Unless your life quality is extremely poor after trying everything else to solve the problem, I wouldn't take anti-depressants. I didn't lose any hair but from all the reading I've done about this med I'm not surprised. Personally, I don't know if it is the Lexapro doing it, but it makes sense that it is the culprit. Ween slowly!!!! Try taking a low dose of valium (5mg) or xanax (.5mg) while weening off. I've heard it really takes the edge off. Actually, if you read the fine print on the drug pamphlet, you are supposed to be on a benzodiazepine when starting this SSRI anyway. Contact me if you want, ***@****
i have been on lexapro for about 2 years. it has really helped my anxiety and depression but in the past 2 months i've lost my insurance so i've tried to ween myself off gradually but apparentlly not gradual enough i've been experiencing signifigant hair loss. has anyone else gone through this?
I noticed my hair shedding after just 4 days of taking lexapro.
It wasnt coming out in clumps or anything but there would be a quite a few (like a dozen, maybe two) hairs in my comb after showering.
I stopped taking the lex. and the shedding seems to have stopped also.
I havent heard whether or not the hair loss is reversible or not, though.
