oh and the reason for feeling naucious is becuase you actually have brain cells in your stomach...weird isnt it. Since your brain controls everything, and thats where the lexapro is taking effect, it will make temporary changes to your body...its completely normal
hey, dont worry.
I have taken lexapro before and started out taking 5mg and worked myself up to a full dose. I took it becuase i have serious anxiety of health problems...so when the side effects started kicking in i was in complete panic!
Just remember--all the weird feelings you experiece is just because the chemicals in your brain are regulating...my psychologist told me that it actually a really good thing to feel naucious while taking it because then you know that the chemical seritonin (the chemical responisble for happy feelings) is regulating. Keep taking the lexapro. The side effects should go away in about a week.
Once you fight through the side effects you could have great results, so it is worth the fight. remember--its only the medication getting used to your body.
Yes, you need to continue despite the side effects. I understand your apprehension but hey....just pop ur xanax if the panic strikes again ;)
5 hours after taking 5mg lexapro for the first time- MAJOR panic, the last thing I need since it was prescribed for panic. I also take 1.5mg xanax a day. Don't know if I'm going to take lexapro tomorrow. Any opinions?
Also, I was gonna start at 5 mg for a week and see how things go, then take 10 mg as prescribed. You're doing the right thing! Do u take anything else besides that? I'm on Klonopin 0.5 mg twice a day for anxiety.
Keep us posted :)
Hang in there buddy, we're in for the wild ride together. It costs me $130 per month for Lexapro so I'm waiting till my health insurance kicks in 11/1 to start taking it.
