lexapro truth

anybody that tells you that you that you will not gain weight from lexapro is lying. at first you loose weight on this drugs within the first month partially because you have nausea. But give yourself about 6 months on the drug and you will have gained weight.  I have noticed that for every year you are on a antidepressant you will gain 20 lbs. Sure you say well if I eat healthy and exercise this shouldent be a problem, not true. This drug effects your metabolism and effects the way your liver works with you insulin levels. This is why you shouldn't take this drugs if you have a liver problem. Being on this drugs for a long period of time will make your liver sluggish, making you feel sluggish. I do not suggest anybody take this drugs more then 6 months...

Hey there.  I totally agree with you.  I have been on Lexapro since June, and have noticed a 15 pound weight gain.  I have been the same weight for like 10 years, and now all the sudden I am gaining weight...it has to be the Lex.

And, I have heard a good number of people saying weight gain was a problem for them too.  

So yea, I just wanted to tell you that I agree with you!

Wow!  Haven't been on it myself, but one of my friends is and has horrible weight gain!  I will tell her.
