medicine for anxiety

Hello,

I am not on medicine for anxiety. But was wondering what works best? Does it actually take that fluttery feeling away? I am scared of medicine... I don't want to be addicted. And I do want children. Does anyone else use the suck it up method? Because that's just not working for me anymore... I can't suck it up. I hate this constant anxious feeling in my chest. and I hate that I focus on my breathing everyday all day... What medicine would be best? I don't want to feel depressed.

Thanks for your response. You're right I need to meet with someone and probably get on medication. It's increased in the last few days... I just can't shake it. Constant anxious feeling and focusing on my breathing. I have my alarm set to get a good workout in tomorrow morning. and I need to change my diet drastically. I eat so bad. Thanks for the advice! I have suffered from anxiety for 15 years, but have it well under control through meds.

There are many good meds for anxiety, you can do that research for yourself. However, what works wonderfully for some, doesn't work for all. PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID of meds that help with anxiety. Why suffer needlessly when you can take medication that will possibly alleviate symptoms? You have nothing to fear. Again, you have nothing to fear. Would you rather suffer on a daily basis, or take something that will help you feel better?

If this has been a chronic condition go and see a well-respected psychiatrist and have him diagnose you and give you the right med if you need it. General MD practitioners are not the best folks to deal with mental / anxiety disorders.

Last, if you are not working up a sweat by working out, you are missing out on of the best remedies for anxiety.

Last do the obvious as far as your diet is concerned: Eliminate caffeine and sugar from your diet, which both can cause an increase in your heart rate.

Keep in touch. I think you're OK!
