meds or life?

Fiance just went through vicodin detox with meds. His doctor perscribed seroquel for anxiety/sleep. Day two, and it made him feel crazy before he fell asleep! The anxiety was worse, muscles tight, hard time talking, really uncomfortable. He read that people with bi polar disorder take these. I think he is starting to feel like a "crazy person." Does anyone know if this feeling is from the seroquel and if so, how long does it last? Could this just be some of the damage he has inflicted to his brain/body from the vicodin abuse?

I was prescribed seroquel at some point.  It was years ago and I don't remember the details any more (there've been so many meds I can't keep track!)  But I do seem to remember that I did not do well on it and got off fairly quickly.

My brother just went through a little nervous breakdown, almost exactly like my first crisis 17 years ago... and now he's quickly catching up to me with the list of medications.  =(

I'd love for him to recover naturally... but unfortunately that's not in the cards.  Since he ended up in a hospital he's now in the 'system.'  He can't go back to work without doctor approval... and they're doping him up and sending him to ridiculous out-patient sessions for another month.  I suspect his insurance covers out-patient treatment that long.  As soon as the insurance money dries up, they'll pronounce him 'fit to work.'  Crazy system.

Anyway, I know nothing about vicodin and its effect on the body.  But unless the symptoms were very severe to begin with, I'm sure doping your fiance up probably isn't helping much.
