I know that you must be feeling pretty overwhelmed..........any of us that have received a scary diagnosis can relate to your feeling of not being able to cope. That is a very normal reaction. Please keep in mind that in the past few years, tremendous strides have been made in the treatment for both fibromyalgia and COPD. My 85 year old neighbor no longer needs oxygen at home because of a new medication her doctor put her on. Don't ever lose hope.
I strongly urge you to visit our Fibromyalgia Forum and our COPD Forum. You will learn a great deal about your conditions, get some great suggestions and most of all, you will get what sounds like some much needed support.
If you are having anxiety about your medical issues, please discuss with your doctor if a mild tranquilizer might help you get through this initial stage. Anxiety will only exacerbate both conditions.
You should also ask your doctor or his staff if they can recommend support groups in your area. I had a bit of a heart issue last year and had to go to cardiac rehab for a few months. I didn't really want to go, but I did and I'm so grateful now. When you are around people fighting the same issues you are, it's amazing the sort of bonds you form. After a couple of weeks, these people were like family to me and I looked forward to each session. I couldn't have made it without my friends there.
Keep reaching out for help and support and it will be there.
I wish you the best
Peace
