nervous

i recently took an hiv test at a quest diagostic labratory. I am nervous now because what if the needle or lancet they used was used on someone else? what if theymade a mistake.

Hi bkjb,
Fear not my friend, Quest always uses new needle and lancets for every test. For quality control purposes each has a serial number which is used for billing purposes. You were in good hands. Sleep easy.

They don't reuse needles and these labs.  The chance of contracting anything from a professional diagnostic service is REALLY slim....you will be fine.  Do you usually worry about other things as well or is it just your fear of illness?  Keep us posted
