am having panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia attacks. I can't stop thinking about the lesion on my leg. I had a biopsy on it and it came back as a benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo lentigo, but the doctor did a shave biopsy and the internet states that a shave biopsy can leadLead poisoning to misdiagnosis of skin cancer...great now I think I have skin cancer. The lesion was deep and the derm. had a hard time getting to it. Do i need a second opinion? i want to get out of this routineRoutine sputum culture...testing and retesting. I don't want to go to the dr. unless medically necessary. I need to accept the results.....any words of supportSupport Support 500 or advice
Health anxiety can really be a drain on us both mentally and physically. My advice; trust the doctor. He did the correctCorrect (new formula) test, and it came back benign. That is great news! Be VERY careful about researching on the internet...you will come up with EVERY possible and impossible reason for your symptoms. I can research a headache and I can come to the conclusion that I have some unfounded not yet discovered fungus growing inside my head...the point is...is it possible? Sure it is, but is it likely...nope. In my opinion that is what can go on in our minds....we tend to think of the worst possible outcome when in the vast majority of cases it is not. In your case, you even had a biopsy that proved you were okay....Odds are EXTREMELY in your favor that you are fine. Keep us posted!
Thank you for your response! It is always uplifting to talk to someone who understands. I'm going to beat this and enjoy my life with my two wonderful children and wonderful husband.
You got the very best advice any of us could have given you from cj. His advice to trust your doctor and the results are spot on and the advice to stay OFF the Internet symptom sites.........even better!
I can't add a single thing to what he's advised you to do with the possible exception to keep a CALM eye on the lesion. NOT to make sure if it's growing, simply to make sure it's healing well. I would imagine your doctor gave you the same advice. Do not become obsessed with watching it! Like any wound, it will take time to heal.
So relax............as cj said, the odds are EXTREMELY in your favor!
You're gonna be fine! cj and I said so! ;)
Keep us posted, OK?
Peace

Not a problem...just don't Google anything regarding any sort of lesions...it is amazing how once we free our mind and accept a diagnosis that we can feel so much better. I am glad you are feeling great!
