not a question but my experience

I have been dealing with anxiety for a while and not knowing what I had and thinking I was dying of something because I had so many symptoms and health problems for a long time was the worst! I ended up in the hospital and went to a lot of different doctors, had countless tests which in a way it was a waste of time and energy but maybe not and it's something I do recommend making sure with your doctor that your symptoms you are having are due to anxiety and not something else because this will help you ease your mind.  Not to bored you with a story that its probably very similar to most of your stories I'll give you a list of things that helped me:
1) Medecine: I was sure I didn't wanted to go this route just because I felt that I could do this on my own but at the same time was very opened to use them at any point if I needed them.  My doctor did give me some sleeping pills because the number one thing to help anxiety he said is sleep....if you don't sleep you can't heal your body of anything.  I used them on and off for two weeks until I felt my body was in a patten of sleeping well on it's own.  I did made sure I went to bed early enough so if I woke up to worry in the middle of the night I had some hours of sleep in me.  Also the doctor gave me Xanax to carry in my purse in case I felt I was going to have a really bad panic attack.
2) Natural remedies: lots of chamomile tea during the day and sleeping aid teas at night. Also and very good are these natural pills I bought at Whole Foods called Calm.  I carried these in my purse all the time and if I had these with a calming tea it helped a lot.  I also bought a natural spray you can spray on you at whole foods called Rescue.  My doctor also recomend a natural supplement called Pharma GABA, he also recommeded taking  Vit D, E, B-Stress, Calcium, Magnesium which I still take.
3) lots of breathing exercise and outdoor exercise every day.
4) no caffeine, low sugars and no alcohol for a while.....now I'm back drinking one cup of coffee in the AM and a drink or two on my weekends but I didn't for about 4 months.
5) of course eating right and healthy always helps and so I did.  Since I have a tight budget I bought less food but made sure that I bought natural and organic foods.  I googled foods that helps with anxiety and so I try some of them
6) bought audio CD on anxiety.  A good one is Hope and Help for your Nerves by Dr Claire Weeks (excellent) and The Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton (he's on youtube)
7) Books: The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook by Edmund J Bourne, Take your Time by Easwaran, a book that my doctor wrote called: Doctor, What's Wrong with me by Dr M. Shahidul Islam...very good in understanding anxiety and only about 100 pages.
8) Applied some EFT (emotional Freedom Techniques)
9) talk, talk, talk about it.  Get it out of your chest. I had friends I trust and knew that they wouldn't judge me so I use to talk to them a lot about this.
10) last but not least: I got closer to God, started going to church again and reading the Bible. Knowing that for me without him I couldn't do it on my own. What ever works for you all I'm saying connect with your spiritual side.  My cardiologist (yes I had all kinds of doctors checked me) said to me something that made so much sense: "we always try to take care of our body by exercising and eating right but we neglect our mind and spirit and just like our body needs nourishment and taking care so do our mind and souls".

I really hope this helps someone out there because I know the toll this takes on our lives and the time wasted on unnecessary thoughts.  Life is too short and fortunately if you really want it you can change it.  I leave you with my upmost hope that this helps you.

Hi
I would really appreciate advice from you
I've suffered with anxiety and severe panic attacks on and off for 22 years
I've recently started a freedom from fear program based on Claire weeks
After experiencing severe panic attacks in the last 6 weeks I had a stress treadmill ECG which was positive and the cardi doc has referred me for a 24 hr holtar ECG and a cath angiogram
I would really appreciate a description of your worst panic attacks as I'm going out of my mind with worry
Regards Julie
