Do not take benadryl or nyquil, if you are an high anxity person those meds have loopy werid feeling side effects, I was just like you scared to death to fly had to for work, Xanax is the way to go get from DR, its quick smooth no strange feelings just takes the anxity out of the equation, take 1/2 before you get on, see how you feel take another half it needed, i do not swallow i dissolve under my tounge works quicker

I think you should see your doctor and get something.  Don't combine medications without a doctor's approval.  At least ask the pharmacist.  A doctor will be understanding about claustrophobia and give you something stronger.  You don't want to have a problem in the plane.  If you're going to Europe, there's no place to stop in between other than Greenland and Iceland and you don't want to be in either of those places.  I fly all the time.  They're very strict on the planes now.  If you do have a panic attack, they'll likely stop wherever they can and put you off.  And you do know the bathrooms are teensy-tiny.  If you're just going on vacation, I'd delay it.  It's not worth a severe panic attack.  Maybe your doctor would give you something for extra sedation.  Flying is very stressful.  Airports are very stressful, unless you just like them and like to fly, like I do.

Well, good luck, but ask your doctor or pharmacist about any combinations.  You don't want to hurt yourself or get sick.  And try it out before the flight.  Nyquil and benadryl make me extremely nervous.  If I took that for sleep, I wouldn't get a wink! LOL
