I honestly think thats where my panic disorder came from..not from the smoke but the other stuff..I have had panic disorder for 13 years now...I no longer do those drugs anymore of course. But I think it is the link to my panic disorder...

I use to do grugs like ex pills and cocaine and when i stopped i started having panic disorder and anxiety and it also messed up my digestive tract a little bit but i think drugs play a big part in this.

I was wondering about that myself.  I had a very brief six month addiction to crack/cocaine 15 years ago.  What an idiot.....I know.  I was dating a real loser and got sucked right in.  I tried it one time....and was hooked on that crap.  I was able to stop on my own and even stopped drinking because I was so afraid that if I drank I might want to get high again.  I have been clean and sober for 15 years.  My panic attacks started very shortly after I stopped using.  I have always in the back of my mind thought that my drug use......even though it was only for six months out of my life......was the cause of the panic attacks.  My panic attacks did eventually go away for a number of years, but they are back again and worse now than ever before.  My doctor recommended medicine which is horrible for me because the sensation reminds me of getting high and it scares the crap out of me.  He sent me to a psychiarist and I asked him if he thought my little stint with crack/cocaine did something to my brain to make me have panic attacks and he said no.  I don't believe it though.  Previous drug use may not be the cause of a panic attack, but I do believe it is a contributing factor just like too much sugar, lack of sleep, dehydration.  No one thing causes a panic attack, I believe it is a multitude of things and I believe that the drug use has a part to play in it.

I did a lot of acid and that definitely contributed to my anxiety. I think more of it has to do with passive behavior for me though. Drugs seriously mess with your brain chemistry and can easily make whatever problems you have worse.
