panic making my body feel bad?

When I first noticed this feeling of my body feeling bad around my chest/back and  arms I thought it was from a slight hangover. Then I began feeling like I was going insane, like there was something wrong in my brain. It stayed all day and when I woke up the next morning it was still there. I thought I was having a mental breakdown, like I was on the cusp of insanity. I debated checking myself into a mental health clinic, but I was able to get a refill of lorazepam that I used and it made me feel immensely better. Heartbeat slowed, chest aahs arms felt better. Even though I didn't feel anxiety I figured it was an anxiety attack and that's why the ativan helped. I began to get the bad body feeling again after a small fight with my husband, with this feeling if impending doom like I want to die, or curl up and sleep fir a very long time in my bed. The ativan is not helping this time and I feel like I'm going insane, what should I do? Is this panic? I don't feel anxious, but my heart is racing.

Thank you crysrussell  for the reply. I know how discomforting anxiety can be and how it affects lives. But in reality we give it the power to do so. Only about thinking of it so much our mind learns anxiety. All we have to do is to unlearn that bad habit :)

I got out of my anxiety by following the linden method. Its an awesome program that'll get you anxiety free in days. No meds, No therepy no nothing. Just the linden method.

I agree with what you said in this post to another person. I also have anxiety and have been going through this for a year now. I didn't get anxiety attacks until i had my son, i also think hormone changes bring on my attacks, and when i start to feel them coming, i try my hardest to change my way of thinking, most of the time it will help, if not then i get up and walk around or start doing something that my thoughts are elsewhere. i do not take meds for my anxiety, i will try what i can in gods power to help myself cope with this issue. it's good to hear someone else out there like yourself that talks your mind out of bad thoughts.  thank you for sharing

I know how you feel. I've been through an anxiety disorder. Let me tell you that what you have described is perfectly normal in an anxiety attack. What you feel are just sensations. No one has ever been harmed by sensations!! And no one has ever been harmed because of palpitations, unless the person has a heart disorder.

The next time you feel bad or anxious say this to yourself  'I know what this is, These are just sensations, i been through this, this cannot harm me in anyway, it'll just subside in a while'. I know its discomforting and hard to keep your mind off it while an attack but, it'll get easier as you try. Trust me. Best of luck :)

It sounds like you may have a little depression going on too along with the anxiety. I could be wrong about this though. Only a Dr can diagnose you.
It does sound like you are having symptoms of anxiety. The impending doom and feeling like you're going to have a mental break down. I take it you have been diagnosed with anxiety and that's why you have the ativan?

What do you mean going overboard a bit? Thank you for your kind words, but I'm confused. there is no getting worked up, when my body feels bad I  want to just shut down. Good luck

I've been going it alone too andmy symtpms are the same as yours. Just today .25 alprazolam (Xanax) which usually relieves symtoms, failed. I waited four hours miserably and then took another .25. This time it worked. I suspect I need to up the dose butdon't want to because of all the terrible stories about addiction. That  insane feeling is frightening. I have had hallucintaions too on other anxiolitics and dropped them..I am trying to find  my way but it's a long process. I think you are going overboard a bit. Getting too worked up will not help you to find the proper medication and dose, Keep going. You'll find the answer and I will too
