panick and anxiety attacks

I am on zoloft now 50 mg for 33 days still have panick attacks .Dr tried upping to 75 mg seems panick attacks got worse. Dr then told me to cut  a 25 mg in half and going up more slowly that way to make it more tolerable . As you can read im very sensitive to meds.  Has any one done this with good results? This is my second go around with zoloft as i was on it many years ago 5o mg per day and it worked . I had still been on zoloft but only took took a 50 mg everytime i had the feelings of withdrawal so i managed that way but since i devleoped post herpatic neuralgia i was put on tegretol 600mg per day i was told that canceled out the effects if any from the zoloft. I am now off the tegretol and on lyrica for the neuralgia and so far so good with pain from neuralgia i have been off tegretol now for 2 weeks.. But i still find myself having anxiety attacks and having to take ativan 0.5mg every day to take the edge off . I am also starting a new hpb med called tenormin and im very nervous about that as well . Does any one have any suggestions?  Thanks so much would love to hear from any one

Hi - I am on Tenormin for heart rythym and bp problems, and have a lifelong history of panic attacks and anxiety. The Tenormin certainly calms me down and regulates my heart rythym but only for a day at a time. I am very drug sensitive and a real problem to the doctors. They can't understand it.
I only take 1/4 of a white tenormin a day and the doc says it's not enough but it is for me. It makes me a bit tired and I have chronic inflammatory sinus disease and it seems to make that worse. It's worth it though.
Try a low dose first - take half what they prescribed and see how you get on. It seems to work within a few minutes which is a good thing. They have tried me on all the anti - depressants but I get anxious, not really depressed and have found that 2mg of Valium during a bad attack usually helps the best. I have been taking it on and off for years and haven't found any addictive problems at all.
Hope this helps a bit. Keep at it, it's all we can do.
Best wishes
