paxil withdrawl

I too am suffering from Paxil withdrawl.  I have been on it for over 3 years.  62mg.  I slowly weened down to 12mg and thought that would be enough.  No such luck.  I'm on day 6 of full blown withdrawl and now a month of feeling bad from weening down.  The last time I tried to go off of it the doctor took me off cold turkey because she had put me on wellburtrin.  The side effects were so bad I thought I was going to die.  A friend of mine a message therapist who specializes in lymphatic drainage offered to help me for free after the first treatment I felt a lot better.  After the 2nd treatment I felt much much better.  My life was still very stressful so I ended up forgetting the hell I went through getting off of it and went back on it to deal with anxiety.  I'm determined to make it this time.  I have an appt. today for the first session of lymphatic drainage.  It cost 45 dollars where I live and I will go every day for a week if thats what it takes.  Has anyone else ever tried this?

If the sea bands don't help -- they're a form of self-applied acupuncture -- try real acupuncture, or the herb ginger.  And try taking a heft dose of fish oil every day -- many have reported this helps with Paxil withdrawal.  The Rescue Remedy is a Bach Flower remedy combination, a form of homeopathy.  It's used in any crisis situation.  Good luck.

Thank you to all who took the time to comment about my symptoms.  Lymphatic Drainage did not provide any immediate relief from the detoxing.  I would love to try a new Dr. but I have military insurance and I am limited to a very small circle of medical help.  However feeling very greatful to have affordable insurance.  I started taking B vitiamin supplements and was given a natural remedy to anxiety. I have never been a big believer in Alternative Medicine but this seems to help and it is instant.  It does not last very long but helps to get through the butterfly feeling and tension in my neck and back from anxiety.  Its called Remedy Rescue and is some kind of plant extract.  You put it under your tongue (5 drops 4 x's a day is my dose)  However I did get major relief today from the sick feeling I have all the time.  It's hard to believe that something so simple could relieve the dizziness and confusion and nausea.  Sea Bands in the sea sick isle at Wal Mart.  They cost me 7 dollars and within 1 hour. I was feeling a lot better.  I hope it lasts. I've been totally without Paxil for over a week now and I would love to never take it again.  If 7 dollar sea bands can allieviate nausea that will be the best 7 dollars I've spent this year.  Thanks again for the advice.

While this "lymphatic drainage" therapy may very well help during your w/d from Paxil, I would strongly urge and advise you to consult with your doctor or preferrably a PMM, (Psychiatric Medication Manager) to w/d safely from these types of meds.

To cherzy:
Any doctor who would advise you to go "cold turkey" off this type of drug after being on it for three YEARS is a moron and I would run, NOT WALK, to find a doctor who knew what the hell they were doing!

One should never take it into their own hands to w/d from psychotropic drugs.

No I never heard of that, it sounds like something I need to try. My dad was on paxel for years then he went off cold turkey, it took a while but now he is fine. He does shake but he says that does not bother him. It sounds like you are doing good considering your body is going threw a a lot. Good Luck
