preagnant and on xanax

i am 3 months pregnant with my 4th child i was prescribed xanax a few years back.. although i never took it while i was pregnant for any of my other children i am takin xanax now... im scared to stop takin it because when i did try to stop i had a sezure..lol (im not a good speller) and my sister had one also because she stopped takin hers.. my dr. told me not to stop takin my meds ... but that was b4 i got pregnant....im not sure what i should do... any advice????

Go see your doc immediately and try to wean down under their care.

Taking Xanax while pregnant is a big NO! You can successfully wean off of it. Make an appt. with your Dr. and get on your way... so you can have peace of mind of a healthy little one. =)

The seizures happen if you quit cold turkey.  If you wean slowly under a psychiatrist's care, they can monitor you, and if you need anti-seizure medication as you taper they can determine that, too.
