prozac to remeron or hormonal issue

Am I in need of meds or hormones. Is this possible that I may just need hormones not anxiety/depression meds? How would I find out which one is right?

I didn't look at the above site, but taking hormones is not a good idea.

I disagree.  Taking hormones (aka the pill) under the direct supervision of your gynecologist for a short period of time (no longer than 1-1-1/2 years) can be exceptionally helpful in eradicating symptoms associated with menopause.

CLC:  Your profile does not reflex your age nor sex, therefore the above advice may not apply.  However, if you do fall into the menopausal-age category of women who believe they are suffering strictly from anxiety, you may be surprised to find after having a simple blood test will provide a definitive answer.

Best wishes.

The birth control pill and hormone replacement therapy are two toatally different things.

I was put on hormone replacement therapy when I went to doc shortly after my divorce complaining that I just couldn't sleep.  No way I could tell what problem was.

The hormones didn't help: I tried both synthetic and natural, and kept moving forward as best I could.  As I had a hysterectomy @ 31: had to trust doc know what he was doing.

Within 2 yrs I was hospitalized with severe depression/anxiety.  The  psychiatrist verified that my problem was not hormonal.

Then I saw a doctor for sinus trouble and left office with a hormone patch....she was very anti head meds.  Tried that for awhile ...no results except raw skin:).  Again, went back to my psychiatrist, and knew for sure problem was not a hormone deficiency.

Two sides to the debate.  It is up to you to try and see what works for you.  Actually I know a friend who is taking both hormones and head meds.   So whatever works!

I was on head meds for panick attacks 15 years ago and it wore off in 6 to 7 years I tries other meds and didn't have any luck. Nov. this past year I went on Prozac 10mg. Started getting an internal vibration but my mood was great. still had some anxiety and upped it to 20 mg. 2 days later I had a suicidal thought that scared me to death. Doc. told me to qit cold turkey and I did for 12 weeks. Those 12 weeks were a living hell to say the least. It has been 4 months since the Prozac and I really feel like it srewed up my system. I am now on remeron 45mg. for 2 1/2 months and have calmed down. I am still ahving side effects of the prozac withdrawl (withdrawal) some days out of the month. I have good days and bad days. More good days so far. I still think that I need hormones. My sister is on the Wiley Protocol. She has had great success. Look it up: www.TheWileyprotocol.com  My bad days come in waves throughout the month, almost like hormonal imbalace. Going to the Dr. tomorrow to hopefully try the Wiley Protocol. Prayers are needed
Thanks
