Thanks so much guys for your opinion.I think i will wait til Monday to start the meds, don't wanna be laying in bed thru weekend in case if the side affects are really bad.SIGH i hope not when i took prozac before i didn't feel any bad side affect hopefully zoloft won't be so bad especially if i'm gonna break it in half.I don't have the brand name zoloft it's generic does that work the same? Thanks again.

If your doctor says it is ok to do it, then in my opinion, there is nothing wrong in doing it, just don't take medication issues into your own hands.

Medications definitely affect us all in different ways.  For me, I actually prefer Zoloft and was very nervous about starting it, but it has really worked for me in the long term.  Remember though, these pills do not cure anything.  In my experience, they are a great tool to use while you learn about and confront your anxiety through talk therapy.

Keep us posted!

I just started back up on my meds yesterday. I went off them when I got pregnant. I was on 50mg of zoloft and wanted to be off meds for my pregnancy. I am now 32 weeks and in the past few day all of my anxiety and depression resurfaced.

Before I was preg I was prescribed 100mg of zoloft but only took 50 by breaking them in half as prescribed by the doc.

He now has given me 50mg of zoloft and has directed me to start on 25mg to see how I do with that so I break those in half as well.

As long as your doc says its ok you can do it and don't be scared to take the meds. I too was very reluctant to go back on them because i was doing so well without them and I didnt want it to affect my baby. But i was assured that zoloft is one of the safer meds to take and very widely prescribed. It may work for you. If not, there are plenty of other meds to take that are just as good that will help you!

Many people take these twice a day, usually to minimize tiredness if that's a side effect.

Zoloft may work for you.  It didn't for me.  Anxiety, ie, panic attacks @ work and in social situations continued.

As far as cutting pill in half, fine if your doc says to do it.

Starting with small amt may work.  Everyone is different.
